voting....

So Justin Jason and I were talking about voting. (no I didn't vote, im a bad american) Anyway Justin commented on how Oregon has internet voting. He thought that it was a bad idea. I dont want to type what he said, because I don't want to misquote him, and I'd rather him say it.I think it is a good idea. More people will vote if it is more conveneint. (Jason said he waited for an hour. ) I think that the more people voting, the more accurate the results are going to be and the better chance that we choose the right guy for the job. Anybody else...

Live From New York...

it's Saturday Night! That's right kids, I just got back from SNL! Now, it was just the dress rehersal but it was still by far the coolest thing I've done since I've been in the city. This morning we (my roomate, her friend visiting from Amsterdam, and I) woke up at 5:00 and went and stood in line at Rockafeller Plaza until 7:00 for stand-by tickets. They made us pick which show we wanted to try for, the dress rehersal or the live show, so we picked the dress-rehersal, figuring we'd have a better shot at getting in. We were numbers 42-44 and I really thought we had no chance but we totally made it. I was so excited because they ran us in there seconds before it started and the whole place was just...electric-- people with headsets running around everywhere, cameramen gracefully moving around each other as though it was a coreographed dance, actors running from stage to make-up and back to stage in a completely different ensemble. It was awesome to say the least. The amount of space they have to work with is insane. There are like 3-4 main stages that they use for all of those sketches. My respect for that show went up about 100%. They really do work hard. Because it was the dress rehersal, they were a little more lenient in breaking character which was hilarious, especially Amy Poehler. So funny. The best part was that Kate Winslet was the host because she is my absolute favorite. I was actually like 10 feet from her! Everytime she would finish a skit, this woman would grab her hand and they would take off sprinting to hair & makeup/wardrobe. What a cool job! I wonder if I can switch my major to "SNL Guest Host Hand Grabber."
Needless to say, it was a great night and a great day because that football game was waaay too close for comfort. Anyway, I really want someone to come visit me already and we can try to go to SNL because I know each one of you would have loved it. Ohhh, also, Eminem was the musical guest and, as many of you know, I am not a fan, at all. However, he did kind of give me chills as I sat back in my chair, arms folded, trying to look as unenthusiastic as possible. It's like he has this power over people, I don't know how to describe it but I've never seen anything quite like it. That's all I got. Happy Halloween:)
