That could be the problem, It's a pretty big flash object. If you get a chance it is in this months issue of wired magazine. Basically it is a flash map showing all the companies, movies, ideas and what not that came from George Lucas.
I went war driving and found an unencrypted network and viewed it. I think it is interesting that Pixar has roots in ILM and David Fincher worked on Return of the Jedi.
ok, after all of this hubbub i finally clicked the link.
first of all, that is the worst presentation method i've ever seen. you're either too far zoomed out or too close to tell how anything outside of that one section is related. its impossible to determine where those little dotted lines that stretch across several sections are going and the linear scale is so long that you need a freakin team of surveyors to tell which things are lined up since the lines are so faint you lose track of where you are. then, even when youre zoomed in, you can barely read the text because of the poor quality. it looks like the document was compressed with a pixelating meat tenderizer. must have been done by Pixar (hahhAHAHhah!)
secondly, its more than a stretch to say that star wars "changed" history to create all of those actors, films, technologies, and companies.. it should just be called "how star wars is somehow (loosely)linked to a lot of things." its like really bad diagram of a game of "Kevin Bacon".
Yeah you're right justin it is a very bad diagram. I looked for an image of it but there isnt one. It's alot better in the magazine. Also I think it's alot more than just "loosley" linked.
Either way that is alot of stuff that can be traced back to Lucas.
wha? no to seeing a star wars movie? though it may be disappointing, ill still see it. my friend here wanted me to go with him to the world premiere in london. we wouldnt have been able to see the film, but we might have seen natalie portman. tempting.....

Maybe it's because I am the idiot who still has dial-up but I can't open this thing up.
